Photo Finds: Paul McCartney Acoustic Medley From 1973 TV Special

Check out this rare photo of Paul McCartney (accompanied by the wife at the time, Linda McCartney) tearing through some classic songs from his extensive catalog.

McCartney performed "Blackbird” by the Beatles White Album, "Blackbird”, Wing Band on the Run, “Michelle ", others cut Beatles Rubber Soul, and "Heart of the Country," taken from solo LP McCartney RAM.

See below as he playfully strums through a couple of verses and choruses of each song, while Linda casually snaps photos and offers the occasional voice support.

This material was included as part of a television special titled James Paul McCartney that aired on ABC on April 16, 1973. The task is divided into eleven different segments, each showing McCartney songs of his career with The Beatles and solo.

The special also features numerous appearances and live performances by the band Wings, McCartney at the time.

James Paul McCartney was produced and directed by Gary Smith and Dwight Hemion, the same team behind the Elvis '68 Comeback Special. It has never been released on any home video format.
